Inspired by the Structure That Remains.
As the outer tissue of a Chinese lantern fades, the delicate vein network of Alkekengi officinarum can remain behind as a hollow natural skeleton.
OREYNE observes how fine lines alone hold an airy volume, translating that relationship into interconnected loops, open mesh and hand-shaped metallic structure rather than reproducing the plant literally.
THE STRUCTURE
Nothing Solid. Nothing Empty.
Small metallic loops connect one to another, gradually forming an elongated volume that narrows near the top and opens toward the lower edge.
Every opening depends on another. Together they create enough tension to hold a dimensional form while keeping air, light and the surrounding space visible through the entire mesh.
IN SUSPENSION
A Form Built From Empty Space.
Suspended from a hook-style ear wire, the tapered silhouette moves naturally while its hollow mesh remains visible from every angle.
Light passes through the interconnected loops, allowing the earring and its mesh-like shadow to shift together as the form turns.
